Is it possible to study manuscript studies at the University of Copenhagen?

The Arnamagnæan Collection co-organises the Arnamagnæan Summer School in manuscript studies, which gives students a great opportunity to learn about Nordic manuscript culture. The summer school is a two-week intensive course, which comprises both lectures and hands-on sessions. The summer school is intended chiefly for graduate students (MA/PhD-level) but may also be of interest to more established scholars hoping to improve their manuscript reading and editorial skills. 

Additionally, Department of Nordic Research offers a variety of manuscripts-related elective courses. During the autumn semester each year we offer following courses East Norse. Texts and artefacts, History and Fiction in Viking Sagas, Digital philology. Creating dynamic, interactive text editions. The Arnamagnæan Collection is moreover a partner in the Nordic Master Programme: Viking and Medieval Norse Studies, which offers extensive training in Old Norse language, palaeography, codicology and literature.
